Roberta Lee (Greathouse) Hunter “Bobbi” was born September 18, 1930, at home in Uniontown, Indiana, Bobbi died December 31, 2022, at home in Mountain View, Missouri, surrounded by loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 67 years, the Rev. Dr. Ralph V. Hunter; by her parents, Leonard and Margreat Cummings Greathouse; by 12 siblings: Thomas, Flossie Mae, Irene, Rebecca Jane, John Cecil, James, Audney, Eva, Louise, Maida, Nora, and Zephy; by daughter Mary Margreat Hunter and stepdaughter Lillian Armstrong, and by grandchildren James Anthony Ferguson, Hillary Hartwell, and Harrison Hartwell.
Bobbi is survived by daughters Cyndi Hunter of Mountain View, Angela and Mo Richardson of Azle, Texas, and Patti and Mike Kail of North Port, Florida, and son Michael Huffman and Brenda of Benson, Arizona; by grandchildren Chris Dunlap (and three great-grandchildren and six great-greats), Robin Dunlap (and five great-grandchildren and five great-greats), Andy Castor, Liz Crater (and a great-grandson), Esther Kirk, and Corazon Hunter, two great-grandchildren, Lilith Ferguson and Dylan Williams, both of Fort Worth, and two step-grandchildren, Tom and Jill Armstrong (and two great-grands), both of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Bobbi was Ralph’s faithful helper at every church he pastored, but she also worked hard to give her children opportunities to learn music and play instruments. She sewed her daughters’ clothing until they were in elementary school. She was a successful Tupperware® and Avon® manager, and she exercised her considerable creative talent by operating a ceramics shop every chance she got. Working at the Classifieds counter for the San Antonio Express and News, she was the celebrated “Bobbi in the Lobby” to the DJs at the local top AM radio station.
Bobbi’s life will be celebrated at Yarber Mortuary in Mountain View on Friday, January 13. Visitation at 6, service at 7. It will be streamed through Bobbi’s Facebook page.
