Rodger E. Smith age 66, the son of Winferd Smith and Doris (Orr) Smith, was born June 16, 1957 at Rolla Regional Hospital and passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri on June 23, 2023.
Rodger was united in marriage to Donna (Cruz) Smith on June 9, 1984. To this union 2 children were born: Kristy N. (Smith) Roth and Brandon E. Smith.
Rodger grew up and attended school in Eminence, Missouri. He worked for Angelica manufacturing, in the strip mines of Pittsburg, Kansas, coal mines in Hanna, Wyoming and was the owner of Windy’s Canoe Rental until his retirement.
Rodger loved anything outdoors and was always hunting and fishing from a young age. Rodger has been all over the hills of Missouri to the mountains of Wyoming and Colorado. Rodger loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Preceding Rodger in death was his mother, Doris Smith.
Surviving Rodger is his father Winferd Smith, wife of 39 years Donna Smith, daughter Kristy Roth (Jon), son Brandon Smith (Alicia). Grandchildren James, Finnley, and Kaylee Roth; Emma, Mason and Alexia Smith.
Rodger will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
