Funeral Services for Roger Dale Carter, Age 64 of West Plains, Missouri will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2026 at His Place House of Worship, West Plains, Missouri. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 18th, 2026 at The Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, Missouri.
Mr. Carter passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born December 8, 1961, at West Plains, Missouri, to Carl Max Carter and Mary (Johnston) Barks. Roger graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1980. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Theology. Roger was a painter and Antique Dealer. He loved fishing and camping with his grandpa Johnston. Roger also loved plants and had a huge variety of them.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Barks, West Plains; his father, Carl Max Carter, Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Teresa Fultz, West Plains and Melinda O’Malley and husband, Mike, Palm Bay, Florida; three brothers, Melvin “Chuck” Barks and wife, Michelle, West Plains, Roger Max Carter and wife, Christine, Newton, Kansas and Ronn Carter, Wichita, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; one uncle, Steve Johnston and wife, Tammy, West Plains; and one aunt, Mildred Warren, Pomona, Missouri.
His life partner, Ron Decker, one brother, Kevin Carter, his Dad Melvin Barks who loved and raised him as his own, maternal grandparents, John Lewis Johnston and Mary Edith Smith Johnston and his paternal grandparents, Charles Ray Carter and Ressie Fern Goodwin Carter and Clarance Raymond Barks and Flora Alice Wheat Barks, his step-mother, Margerette Carter, two brothers-in-law, Keith Baker and Anthony Fultz and many aunts and uncles, preceded him in death.
