Funeral Services for Rolves Lewis Smotherman, Age 69 of Birch Tree, Missouri will be held on Thursday, June 11th, 2026 at The Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, beginning at 3:00 PM. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in The Bethlehem Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri.
Rolves Lewis Smotherman was born on January 21, 1957, in Alton, Missouri, to Oscar D. and Sylvia (Ledgerwood) Smotherman. He departed this life on June 8, 2026, at the age of 69.
He was united in marriage to Susan M Wheeler on July 2, 1977. To this union three children were born: Rolves Jared, Justin Lewis, and Jabryna Mae.
Rolves is survived by his wife, Susan; three children, Rolves Jared Smotherman and wife, Kelli of Birch Tree, MO, Justin Smotherman of Mountain View, MO, and Jabryna Smotherman of Birch Tree; six grandchildren, Aspen (Trenton), Ayden, Rolves Quinn, Easton, Callin, and Layken; one great-grandson, Travis Lewis; five brothers and three sisters; multiple nieces and nephews; and his name sake, Wilbert Vincent Rolves “Uncle Vince” of Carlyle, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar D. and Sylvia Smotherman.
Rolves was a hardworking, jack of all trades, do-anything-for-anyone kind of guy. He was the most unselfish human being you would ever meet. He had many hobbies, but his passion was spending time with his family, and his grandkids were his greatest joy. He looked forward to his and Jared’s annual Colorado trips and anytime his children or grandkids came to do something with him.
Rolves Lewis Smotherman was a devoted father, loving grandfather, cherished family member, and loyal friend. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. Throughout his life, he worked hard to provide for those he loved and took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
