Roy Simmons

Roy Simmons passed peacefully Friday, May 7, 2021 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in
Mountain Home, AR. Roy was born August 28, 1936 in Eldorado, AR. He moved to Missouri in
1973 after working in the oil fields for many years. Roy was always a hard worker, having a farm
in Gainesville and retiring from Baxter Lab in Mountain Home, AR. He loved his family, fishing,
hunting, and always enjoyed playing golf when he had the chance. He served as a General
Baptist Pastor for many years. He will be missed by many friends, family, grand-children, and
great-grandchildren.

He is survived by wife, Dora Burnett-Simmons and family of Theodosia, MO; brother Robert
and wife Joyce of Gassville, AR; sister Burnadean Burnthorne of Merced, CA; daughter Susan
and husband Skip Didier of Scott, LA; son Troy and wife Christine Simmons of Clarkridge, AR;
son Keith Simmons of Empire, AL; son Marty and wife Simone Simmons of Lafayette, LA; son
Justin Simmons and wife Tara and grandchildren Sara and Levi of Gainesville, MO; son Tim and
wife Susan Campbell of Gainesville, MO; son Dale and Vicky Campbell of Lakeview, AR;
grandson Michael Foster and wife Melinda of Gainesville, MO; granddaughter Misty and spouse
Dillon Cheyney of Ava, MO; and grandson Bryan Campbell of Gainesville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father Milton and mother Nellie Simmons, four sisters, two
brothers, and daughter Cheryl Campbell.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Lilly Ridge Baptist Church in Gainesville, MO, Friday
May 14 at 5:00 PM.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
