Sandra Jean Archer

Sandra Jean Archer,   75 years, 16 days old, passed peacefully on February 8, 2025, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, with her family by her side.

Sandra was born January 20, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan to Ray and Dolores Jean (Potts) Gibson.

She was raised in Ava, Missouri, and was a graduate of Ava High School. After moving to Ava, Dolores married Barney Barnum and he helped raise Sandra, along with Dolores, as his own daughter. 

Sandra was a commercial seamstress for many years. She worked at various manufacturing companies. She use to make school bus seat covers in Branson, Missouri. In addition she created awnings for HB Wall in Springfield, Missouri. Her trade was very important to her.    

In 1966, Sandra and William Truman Archer were united in marriage  at the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava, Missouri. It was there that she was baptized. They were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Clint.  

She enjoyed gardening, the beach, being with all her family and especially her grand and great grandchildren. 

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Ray Gibson and also her dad, Barney Barnum; a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Burton; a brother, Bob Barnum; a granddaughter, Amber Leeann Cohen; and one grandson, Lane Wilder Frye.   

Sandra is survived by her mother, Dolores “Dee” Barnum; her son, Clint Archer; her daughter, Kimberly Archer; her nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren;  two sisters, Carol Fuller and Patricia Haskill; one brother, Wes Barnum; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and numerous friends.

Sandra was very family driven and her legacy of love and devotion will live on in her family.             

Cremation services for Sandra are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. It was Sandra’s wished to be cremated. A Celebration of Her Life will be at a later date and time.
