Sharon Lee Pope was born May 1, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Robert Theodore and Shirley Mae (Dodson) Smith. She passed away January 13, 2022 at her home in Summersville, Missouri at the age of 82.
Sharon was united in marriage to James S. Pope on February 25, 1957 and 2 sons were born to their union, Richard J. and Cecil A. Pope.
She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and also spent time driving a truck with her husband.
Sharon enjoyed square dancing, sewing and arts and crafts. She also published a cookbook for the low-vision impaired.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert T. Smith; step-father, Albert Hinderlang; mother, Shirley M. Hinderlang; step-mother Margaret Smith; her husband, James S. Pope and a step-sister, Joan Sizemore.
Sharon is survived by her sons, Richard J. Pope and Cecil A. Pope; brothers, Gerald R. Smith and Daniel T. Smith; step-brother, Frank E. Vogel; half brother, George R. Hamilton; grandchildren, Angie Pope, Colten Pope, Penny Carter, James O. Pope, Anthony S. Pope and Steven B. Pope as well as numerous great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
