Sherry Ann Lawrence, 76, of Houston passed away March 23, 2024, at Houston House. Sherry was born on September 2, 1947, in Houston, MO, to Roy Mack Jones and Juanita May (McKinney) Jones.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Dee Lawrence of Houston; son, Marshall Lawrence of Houston; brothers, Bruce Jones of Katy, TX, Garrett Jones of Indiana, and David Jones of Missouri; sisters, Peggy McCoy of Houston and Bea Stienberger of Licking; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Francis Kilb.
Sherry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston and attended as long as her health allowed. She lived in Oregan for a short time, then moved to Lasalle, IL, and finally back to Houston. Sherry was an over the road truck driver, owning her own company with two trucks. She enjoyed trucking as it allowed her to see parts of the country that she wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Sherry enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. She loved playing with her cats and dogs, and visiting her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, Sherry was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Ozark Baptist Church at a later date. Inurnment will follow at Ozark Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sherry’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
