Shirley Jean Fleetwood, daughter of Leonard and Reta (Brake) Hampton, was born on May 22, 1939, in the Goodhope Community near Ava, Missouri. She passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of April 23, 2023, at 84 years, 11 months, and 1 day old.
Shirley and David (Bob) Fleetwood were united in marriage on August 24, 1973, in Ava, Missouri, where she resided most of her life. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and faithful Christian. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality and willingness to help others. She never shied away from an opportunity to share her faith in Jesus and enjoyed church fellowship and activities. She also had a life-long love for gardening and looked forward to planting flowers and vegetables every spring. Her favorite memories included road trips with her husband, Bob, to see family, go fishing, and explore the western United States. She will be fondly remembered by many for her welcoming smile and unwavering faith.
Her children cherish the time and care she unselfishly dedicated to them. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion to her four children: Teresa Quick, Angela (Burt) Williams, Dallas Fleetwood, and Shalana (Stephen) Frisby. She also affectionately adored her seven grandchildren: Michael Rains, Hannah (Lane) Parker, Ella (Dillon) Hester, Sam (Jessica) Williams, Abbie Williams, Madelyn Fleetwood, and Rowynn Frisby. She was beloved by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins as well, with a special thanks to Brenda and family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Bob, one sister, Sybil (Marvin) Fleetwood, her children, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Shirley will be Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Vinson. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
