Shirley Louise Beard, 84 years, 7 months, and 5 days old, passed away on March 12, 2025, at her home with her daughter, sister and family by her side.
Shirley was born August 7, 1940 in Mount Judea, Arkansas to Ashley and Gertie Caroline (Campbell) Jackson.
Shirley was a Christian and a member of the Pine Ridge Church of Christ in Wasola, Missouri.
On November 2, 1962, Shirley and Ellis “Dale” Beard were married in Independence, Missouri. Together they had a daughter, Kimberly.
Shirley enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting, and embroidering. She loved to cook and fried potatoes were her specialty. All the children in the community loved her. Shirley and Dale spent a lot of time giving hay rides, pony rides, and growing watermelons that they shared with everyone.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; brother, Athel Jackson and his wife, Lillie; two brother-in-laws, Loran Beard and Nathaniel Beard.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kimberly; sister, Jackie Marie Jones; two sister-in-laws, Delores and Leroy Hathcock and Ada Beard; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Shirley will be Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Pine Ridge Church of Christ in Wasola, Missouri with burial to follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to service time at the church. Officiating will be Montana Howerton and Tim Williams. Memorials may be made to the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
