Memorial Services for Sylvia Evelena Atkisson, Age 88 of Texas County, Missouri will be held on Monday, June 8th, 2026 at The Evans Funeral Home, Houston, Missouri, beginning at 11:00 AM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in The Mahan Cemetery, Raymondville, Missouri.
Sylvia Evelena (York) Atkisson, age 88, daughter of Henry and Susan (Bullock) York was born on May 7, 1938, in Texas County. She passed away on June 2, 2026, at Phelps Health, in Rolla, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Edward Atkisson on December 6, 1958. To this union five children were born.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edward; daughters, Katherine and Angela Atkisson; one granddaughter, Alisha Atkisson; sisters, Clara Jackson, Aleda Oglesby, Geraldine York, Goldie York, and Willa York; and brothers, Gene, Raymond, and Willard.
She is survived by daughters, Kay Crider and Lisa Atkisson; son, Dewayne Atkisson, all of Raymondville, MO; grandsons, Aaron, Wesley, and Dalton; great grandchildren, Ethan, Jaxon, Enix, and Cayden; and brothers, William and Dale.
