Ted Elmore, a lifelong resident of Willow Springs, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. Ted was born March 8, 1931, to Dallas Delmar and Edna (Hanson) Elmore in Waterloo, Iowa and was 93 years old.
Ted proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He served as an engineer on the USS Saipan until he was hospitalized from tuberculosis for one and a half years. Ted enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially for turkey and deer, as well as spending time with his family. Ted was married to Mona Kay Wheeler and through their union 3 daughters were born.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ed and Donnie Elmore.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Lynn Boyle (Mike), Debra Jo Simon (Larry) and Cindy Kay Bryan (Pat); his grandchildren: Candace Bunce, Heather Cunningham, Amanda Boser, Ashley Simon, Drew Simon, Jodie Bryan, and Brett Bryan; and multiple great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his significant other, Beverly (B.J.) Shock and Cindy and Gary Barton, Jessica Banning, and Jeremy Barton.
A graveside funeral service for Ted will be held at 1:00p.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Willow Springs City Cemetery with Father Nick Newton officiating. Ted will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
