Thelmer Ray Davis “TR” was a one of a kind and left this world unexpectedly on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at the age of 32.
He was born to Randy and Ramona Davis on May 27, 1988 in West Plains, MO. Growing up exploring the hills and hollers of Douglas County, TR became quite the outdoorsman. He attended school in Willow Springs, MO and after school, settled down just outside of town on a small hobby farm. In 2007 his first daughter, Lyla Merie Davis, was born. Shortly after he met his wife, Janice, and the two were married on September 8, 2009. TR then was blessed with three more children, Haylee Rae Davis born in 2011, Jazmyn Nicole Davis born in 2016, and Trustyn Faith Davis born in 2018. TR loved spending time outdoors hunting and gardening and shared his passion with his family. He enjoyed filling his own hunting tag but received greater joy by helping a friend or relative harvest their own animal. If it wasn’t turkey or deer season, he was hunting for mushrooms, arrowheads, or a new fishing hole. His green thumb led him to plant pine trees, sycamore trees, fruit trees, lilies, peonies, and other plants and trees all around his home. Every spring he was known to show up at loved one’s homes and plant bunches of Easter lilies in their yards. Every morning TR woke up and wanted to make someone’s day a little better. His ornery grin and flirtatious wink were enough to make anyone feel special. TR loved his children more than anything. He was always rough housing and playing just like he was one of the kids. He took them hunting and fishing and taught them something new every day. TR’s favorite job was being a dad and he gave his children a beautiful childhood. TR loved the Lord and had the heart of an angel. From giving stranded motorist new trailer tires to helping a friend make ends meet for the month, he was always there. If you needed him, TR was ready to help.
TR is proceeded in death by his grandpa “Pete” Thelmer Ray Davis; his uncle, Steve Davis; and his grandpa, Jack Rosenburg.
TR is survived by his wife, Janice Davis; his children, Lyla, Haylee, Jazmyn, and Trustyn Davis; his father, Randy Davis; his mother, Ramona Davis; his sisters, Angel Davis and Randi Ortega and brother- in- law Daniel Ortega; his brother, Skyler Davis; his nephews and niece, Brayden, Anthony, Briston, Emmett, and Kyndall; his grandmother, Shirley Rosenburg; his in-laws Doug and Linda Conner, Shaylee and Logan Welch, and Nancy Kelley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
