Tony McDonald “Mack” Sartin, 83, was born November 30, 1939 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, to parents, George M. Sartin and Dottie D. Raney. He passed away February 15, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his own home in Winona, Missouri.
He was united in marriage on October 23, 1959, to Janet Arthur in Birch Tree, Missouri, inside the home of their preacher. They remained married throughout his life, and raised two wonderful sons together.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Dottie Raney and George and Rachel Sartin; baby brother Richard, who died at birth; and step-sister, Louise Ann Furber.
He is survived by his two sons, Kevin and Char Sartin, of West Plains, MO, Mark and Sharon Sartin, of Winona, MO; four granddaughters, Brandi Anthony of Popular Bluff, MO, Toni and Ryan Hilton, of Winona, MO, Jessica and Jasmine Sartin, of Eminence, MO, and Melissa and Andy Wisdom, of Winona, MO; 7 great-grandchildren, Victoria Qualls, Jay Qualls, Kelton Sartin, Jaymeson Farris, Lachlin Hilton, Jaylee Wisdom, and Thatcher Hilton. Along with a slew of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Mack was a hard worker prior to retirement, spending many years at Missouri Hardwoods and Paramount Apparel. He took pride in a job well done and always played a role in boosting morale and keeping work enjoyable. Mack never met a stranger, always smiling and happy, he was a blessing to know. Between his infectious and active laugh, his never-ending stories and his silly light-hearted limericks, you just couldn’t seem to get enough of him. Mack spent most of his free time “tinkering” in the basement where he re-loaded ammo, made homemade guns, cannons, his infamous “tater-aids”, windmills, solar ovens, beer, wine and shine and so much more. All while puffing on a cigarette and brushing up karaoke skills. He was a genius of his time and as a mechanically-minded as they come. You name it, he’d either build it or figure it out for you. Like most members of this fine area, Mack loved to shoot guns, hunt and fish, especially with friends and family. Days spent with buddies at deer camp or family on the edge of the lake were days he never, ever forgot or stopped talking about. You see, Mack’s family was his life and anyone who truly knew him, knew nothing more to be more true. He had the biggest heart this world ever saw and each of his loved ones owned their own piece. He will be missed beyond measure.
Mack was a believer of the almighty, and into his hands, the fate of his soul rests.
