Verl Ray Brown, 71 years, 24 days old, passed away on July 20, 2023 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO with his family by his side.
Verl was born June 27, 1952 in Mtn. Grove, MO to John Wesley and Mary (Deaton) Brown.
On August 24, 1973 Verl and Brenda Mae Curtis were united in marriage at Norwood, MO and together were blessed with three children.
Verl was retired from working at Hutchens Industries in Mansfield MO. He was proud of being able to work there for 27 years! He was a Christian and raised in the Pentecost faith. Verl enjoyed carpentry and working on vehicles. He loved the challenge of fixing things and tinkering on machinery. He was known as the neighborhood mechanic. Verl especially loved being with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. Everybody liked and loved Verl!
Verl was preceded in death by parents; his siblings, Charlie, Darrell, Harold, George, Melvin, Katherine, Jean and Nora Mae.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his children and their spouses, Andy & Autumn Brown, Rhonda & Nathan Nava and Cody & Jasmin Brown; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings, Debbie Gonzales, Howard, Everett and Kenneth Brown; many relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
Funeral services for Verl will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Pleasant Home Cemetery, Drury, MO. Visitation will be on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Ray Dobbs.
