Verla Kay (Lee) Pulliam of Elizabeth, Arkansas, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the age of 76 years. She was born on February 19, 1945, to Verl Oscar and Ollie (Daugherty) Lee in Burlington Junction, Missouri.
She was later joined in marriage to the love of her life, best friend, and fishing partner, Virgil D. Pulliam. They were blessed with four children, Joseph Dale, Valerie Kay, Vedeana Fay, and Velinda Renea; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She loved to fish, garden, and watch the deer from her front porch. Mostly, she loved listening to country music and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Verl and Ollie Lee; husband, Virgil Pulliam; daughter, Velinda Wilkins; and two brothers, Joe Kenneth Daugherty and Jackie Lee.
Kay is survived by three children, Joseph (Chrissa) Pulliam, Valerie (Scott) Sanders, and Vedeana (Darrell) Polm; five sisters, Wilma Lawson, Evelyn Freed, Carolyn Chowning, Debbie Crider, and Wanda Freeman; one brother, Jeryl Lee; one sister-in-law, Kaye Lee; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri with Wyatt Pulliam officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri.
