Vernon John Charles Holpuch, Jr., 81, passed away May 21, 2020 at Mtn. View Health Care, ending a long battle with cancer. Known by friends and family as “Bud”, he was born on October 5, 1938 to Vernon and Alma (Schult) Holpuch, Sr. in Berwyn, Illinois.
He leaves behind his children, Charlie (Marcia) of Maryland, Dana (Chris) Lehman of Tennessee, Holly (David) Rudolph of Mtn. View, and Dale (Julie) of Moberly; his sister, Gloria Mezera of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy (Heaberlin), and two sons, Michael and Darrell. He was a Marine and served his country with pride during the Vietnam years.
He spent his career as an electrician and maintenance worker. He could fix anything and was also skilled in auto body repair. He loved animals and nature and enjoyed living in Mountain View where he was surrounded by both. He could be found sitting by his pond with a fishing pole in his hands or on his porch chatting with a peacock on most afternoons. He will be missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain View Health Care for their years of loving care and compassion and Compassus for their support. A private family service will be held at a future date. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
