Victor Brent Moles, 68 years, 11 months, 18 days old, passed peacefully to his Heavenly home on April 3, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Victor was born April 16, 1954 in Moline, Illinois to John and Hester (Rhoades) Moles.
Victor came to live at Country Living in February 2014. When he was a year old his family moved to Missouri. Victor’s dad was a full time preacher and his mother was a homemaker. Victor grew up in Ava, MO where he attended all 12 years of school and graduated. He attended one year of college at Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. Victor worked at Ava school for 23 years as a custodian. The most memorable trip that Victor went on was a mission trip to Africa. Victor’s whole family went to build a church. There were about 18 in the group. He said that was a special trip since they were able to go as a family doing God’s work. Victor got to see a lot of wild animals and brought home some carved wooden animals as souvenirs. Victor used to collect owls and horses until he got too many and had to downsize his collection. Another hobby would be playing the piano. Victor’s dad performed a lot of weddings, so Victor would play the piano for the weddings. He said he felt like that was his gift from God. His favorite songs were How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross. He always attended Highway Church of the Nazarene in Ava where his dad pastored for 37 years! When Victor would see the parsonage at that church it brought back very special memories of him growing up with his family. Victor’s favorite food would be his mothers popcorn balls she made every winter. He remembered helping his mother shape them into balls. He also enjoyed strawberry milkshakes. Victor said that it was always an honor to be called a “PK”, a Pastors Kid.
Victor was preceded in death by his mother, Hester.
