Vida loved spending her time doing arts and crafts. She was a very talented artist, she loved working the most with acrylics. She entered her work, which was mostly landscapes, in various art shows. She applied her talents at one point in her life to owning and running her own floral shop in Belton, Missouri. Vida loved teaching art classes, even though she often ended up painting your whole picture for you, but your finished product sure looked great. She loved her group of friends from church, and even painted a beautiful mural for her church.
Vida loved baking, especially at Christmas time. If you were lucky enough, you would receive her sweets package, only to delay your diet until after the holidays.
Pro Bull Rodeo Tours were a big television night for Vida and her brother Tommy. She could tell you all about the bull riders, just like they were her best friends. And let’s not forget her Kansas City Chiefs. I think Vida thought she could coach better than Andy Reid. She sure could tell you about the Chiefs players and what they needed to do differently. Ironically, the Kansas City Chiefs won their Superbowl game only hours before she passed, but we’re sure she knew they had won.
Vida was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Tommy Lane and three half siblings. She is survived by her son, Danny and wife, Denise Bogard Greuter of Peculiar, MO; daughter, Lorie Schleicher and husband, Bob Schleicher of Driggs, Idaho; 7 grandchildren, Erica Stokley, Chad Schleicher, Ashley Short, Nick Schleicher, Danielle Storms, Jordan Schleicher and Kylie Schleicher; 5 great grandchildren, Trey and Kaden Stokley, Grayson and Kennedy Short and Wesley Schleicher; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Our mother, grandmother, friend, aunt, and cousin will surely be missed. She was such a kind, loving soul, but we all now have an amazing angel by our side. We love you, Vida.
