A Burial for Vinita Velligan, Age 86 of Springfield, Missouri will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 in The Seymour Masonic Cemetery under the direction of The Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Seymour, Missouri.
Vinita Aileen Velligan (nee Ipock) age 86, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, after a sudden and unexpected illness.
Nita was born on July 12, 1939, in Hartville, Missouri to Carl and Bessie Ipock. She cherished her independence and lived on her own until the time of her illness. She took great pride in her home and found joy in gardening, where she lovingly tended her flowers and plants for many years.
Nita will be laid to rest on May 30, 2026, at the Seymour Masonic Cemetery, alongside her parents, two of her brothers and other extended family. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, self-reliance, and the comfort she found in caring for her home and garden.
Nita is survived by her two children, Kimberly (Bill) Dockman of Lutherville, Maryland and Brian (Ellen) Velligan of Haverford, Pennsylvania, her four grandchildren, Lindsay and her husband, Ben Brown, Claire, James and Sophia and two great-grandchildren, Dock and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 of her 9 siblings.
