Virgil Norman Mitchell, 81 years, 8 months, and 6 days old, passed away on, March 1, 2022 at his home in Rogersville with his wife, Judy by his side.
Norman was born June 26, 1940 in Success, Missouri to Herbert and Mildred (Burris) Mitchell.
Norman was a Navy Veteran and served honorably.
Norman was a Christian and was saved at a young age.
On April 16, 1983 Norman and Judith Wilson were united in marriage at the roadside park, north of Ava, Missouri.
Norman enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. He liked to attend blue grass festivals. He also enjoyed woodworking and having a big garden. He also liked to bar-b-que and to roast a pig.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Kelly Morpeth and Kristi Davis.
Norman is survived by his wife, Judy; five children, Marlyn Rima, Travis Mitchell and wife, Dede, Dawn Davis and husband, David, Tony Bishop and Andrea Turner; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Barton and Shirley Jenkins; aunt, Marlene Hubbs, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Norman will be Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 P.M. to service time. Burial will be in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by U.S. Navy Detail and Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Officiating will be Pastor John Williams. Memorials may be made to Access Hospice, Ozark, MO.
