Wanda Lee Byron, 91, of Gainesville, MO went home to Jesus on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 91. She was surrounded by loved ones in her daughter’s home in Gainesville. She was born May 30, 1930 in Broken Arrow, OK to Jesse and Florence (Harper) Mahan.
Wanda loved holidays and her grandchildren dearly. She was a sweet lady that never knew a stranger. Anyone who entered her home was embraced with loved and sent home with some sort of food item. She gave the best hugs.
She was very supportive and always shared her faith with everyone. She always encouraged her grandkids to follow their dreams and trust in the Lord. She was one of a kind and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her children Letitia “Letty” Barron of Gainesville, MO, David Wayne Byron of Ozark, MO, John Michael Byron of Sparks, NV; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother Charles Mahan and wife Carlene of Gainesville, MO; one sister Winonah Henning of Gainesville, MO; and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son John Gregory Byron; and five siblings Verl Mahan, Muriel Hale, Fern Leek, Marylou Myers, and Shirley Garrison.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 in the Lutie Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:30-12:30 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
