Wanda J. Hardy

Wanda June Hardy, age 81, passed away peacefully in her home in Mtn. Grove on July 14th 2022 in the loving care of her children.  She was born June 5th, 1941, in Mtn. Grove, to Earl Foster and Lois (Lucas) Dennis.  She was the middle child in a family of 5 children and lived on a farm 9 miles out of town on Hwy N.  She attended Blanchard County school until 6th grade and then Mtn. Grove public school until her graduation in 1958.

She worked in Springfield at LilyTulip and met the love of her life, Edwin Hardy, who was attending SMS and working at KYTV.  They were married August 7th, 1960 and moved to Seymour, MO. They later lived in Cabool before moving to St. Clair, MO and then back to Cabool where they settled to raise their family.  They had 3 children, Timothy, Scott and Steven.

Wanda loved floral design and worked at florists in Sullivan, St. Clair and Cabool before working at Head Start for a couple of years.  She worked as a receptionist for Drs. Perry & Rose for 23 years before retiring in 2000.  Sewing, crocheting and tole painting were some of the many hobbies she enjoyed throughout the years.  She had been a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed being part of Mt. Pisgah’s Ladies Aid.  She greatly enjoyed traveling, friends, holidays and time with family.  She was compassionate and caring and always willing to give her time and effort to help friends and family in times of need.  Both her dress and demeanor were always bright and sparkly.  Her love and presence will be truly missed.

She felt very fortunate to have been able to travel to Sweden, France and England and take several cruises.  She greatly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Hardy; her brother, Leon Dennis; her sister, Lela Strube (Dennis) and her son, Scott Alan Hardy.  She is survived by her sons, Timothy James (Tonya) and Steven Andrew; her brothers, Wendell (Sharon) and Randall (Jan);  six grandsons, Dustin (Autumn), Matthew (Jillian), Tyler (Hannah), Randy (Mary), Dylan (Rebecca), Broderick and Everett; her granddaughters, Kristin (Josh) and Timolyn and her great-grandkids, Ryley, Mckenzie, Teagan, Easton, Corbin, Hazel and Scarlett.
