Wanda Jean Wakefield was born July 24, 1944, in Winona, Missouri, to Raymond Skaggs and Gladys (Goforth) Atkins. She departed this life on June 25, 2024, in Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 79.
She was united in marriage to Edmond Wakefield on October 26, 1968, in Winona, Missouri. Together they raised two children, Brigette and Eddie.
Wanda is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Skaggs; mother and stepfather, Gladys and Buck Atkins; and her husband, Edmond Wakefield.
Survivors include her children, Brigette (Jimmy) Wilson of Houston, MO, and Eddie (Dana) Wakefield of Winona, MO; grandchildren, Matthew Bland, Tyler Bland, Jordan Denning, Destiny Wakefield, Derek Wilson, and Dalton Wilson; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Stearns of West Plains, MO, Patsy Sigler of Webb City, MO, and Beverly Hollis of Winona, MO.
Wanda loved her dog, Scooter. She enjoyed working in the yard with all of her flowers. She was very proud of her grandchildren. She will be missed and was loved by all of her family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Winona, Missouri, with Bro. Darrell Jones officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
