Memorial Services for William Howard Hendrix, Age 94 of Thayer, Missouri will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 at The Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, Missouri, beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place in The Arytown Cemetery, Couch, Missouri.
William Howard Hendrix, age 94 of Thayer, MO, was born October 9, 1931, in Perry County, MO, and passed away September 3, 2026, at his home.
Survivors: wife, Betty, of the home; 3 children, David (Barbara) Hendrix of Sparta, MO, Dennis Hendrix of West Plains, MO, Denita (Danny) Frazier of Forsyth, MO; 1 step-daughter, Susan (Gary) Baldridge of Thayer, MO; 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, John William and Martha Jane (Stacey) Hendrix; 4 sisters, Kathy Hendrix, Etta Mae Herron, Shirley Broeker, and Mary Alice Vinson; 3 brothers, John, Jerry and Leroy Hendrix; 4 brothers-in-law, Cecil Francis, Claude Herron, Don Broeker, and Jimmy Vinson; 1 daughter-in-law, Tina Hendix; step-in-laws, Raymond and Reverta Hays, Willard and Carolee Barton, and Irl and Charles Martin.
After serving in the US Army, he worked for General Motors for 10 years, worked for the City of Thayer for 10 years, worked for Coca Cola for 23 years, and also worked for Curt’s Cars. He enjoyed his grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids, and loved attending the Thayer First Baptist Church where he was longtime member. He will be missed by all of those who knew him.
