William Russell Heath

William Russell Heath, 87 of Mtn. Grove, MO passed away on November 5, 2022 in West Plains, MO where he lived with his niece, Cathy and George Marcum.  He was born on May 19, 1935 in De Motte, IN the son of Jesse and Jennie (Chambers) Heath.

William was sworn into the Army on Thanksgiving Day 1953 at Ft. Leonard Wood where he was assigned to heavy equipment school.  He proudly served his country, spending time in France before returning to the states where he would join the National Guard in northern Indiana.  He then returned to the regular Army; he then would be stationed in Korea, Germany, Turkey, Thailand, Texas and finally back to Ft. Leonard Wood.  He was then assigned to serve as a military escort for the remains of deceased military personnel to escort them back to their destination.  He received his honorable discharge on August 1, 1969 at Ft. Leonard Wood.

William was never married and had no children.  He served in the Army for 15 years and traveled all over the world; he alway enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Albert Heath, Mary Elizabeth Kusawski, Helen Louise Johnson, Infant Heath, Dorthy Jean Benton, Robert Eugene Heath, Harry Townsend Heath, Louis Crownover and Etta Crownover; as well as many nephews and nieces whom he loved very much.  He is survived by sisters, Sue Hilburn and husband, Jerry of Walnut Ridge, AR and Peggy Dobson and husband, Orval of Attica, IN; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
