William (Wayne) Steele, 91 of Summersville, MO passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Mountain View Healthcare.
Wayne was born February 13, 1931 in Linnsburg, Indiana. He was the son of Kenneth Foster and Leona Francis (Brugge) Steele.
He graduated from New Ross High School in Indiana, where he met his sweetheart, Patti Burk. On February 13, 1952 he and Patti married. Their marriage lasted 69 years, their love affair 72!
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patti, his parents Kenneth and Leona, older brother Fredrick Junior, younger sister Dolores Marie and niece Tanya Brundage
He is survived by his sister-in-law Peggy Steele. Many nieces and nephews, all of whom he enjoyed.
Wayne served in the Army during the Korean War. He was very proud of his service and told many funny stories we loved to hear. Upon completing the service to his country, he returned to Crawfordsville, IN. where he spent 20 years working for Mid-States Wire Company.
He and Patti then moved to Missouri. He held a variety of jobs and spent his time working on many projects. He loved to work outside building things and working with his animals, but most of all he loved spending time and sharing moments with his family.
Wayne has family and many friends both in Indiana and Missouri. He shall be greatly missed.
