Wilmadene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgil Scheets, and her son, Mark Scheets.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Scheets of Mountain View, Missouri, two granddaughters, Angela (and Chad) Lisle of Ottawa, Kansas, and Allison (and Michael) Williams of Gardner, KS; four great-grandchildren, Eden and Zane Lisle, and Harrison and Esther Williams. In addition, there are many nephews, nieces, extended family, and loved ones that she cherished like her own.

Wilmadene grew up in the Yukon area and graduated from Summersville High School. She married her childhood sweetheart, Virgil, in 1956. They were blessed with two sons, Mark and Jeff. Their home was filled with laughter, music, and an undeniable devotion to one another for 56 years. In fact, Wilmadene and Virgil could regularly be found singing together while doing the dishes or working around the house.

For most of her life, Wilmadene was a member of Ozark Baptist Church in Houston, Missouri. She received Christ as her Savior at a young age and faithfully served for many years. Loving on the babies in the church nursery was her specialty. Furthermore, her beautiful and strong soprano voice was a fixture in the church choir as long as she was able.

Wilmadene enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She made many treasured items for her children, grandchildren, and beyond. She was well known to be a great cook and often devoted hours cooking special meals. She had a wonderful way with little ones and spent many years helping “raise” those she babysat as “Nanny Dee”.

Wilmadene was a unique and incomparable woman, feisty and strong-willed. But you knew she loved you and that she was in your corner. She will be greatly missed, but we know she’s again happy and healthy, praising Jesus with her loved ones who went before.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wilmadene’s name may be made to Big Creek Cemetery or Three Rivers Hospice.
