Yates Massey, age 88, of Hardy Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Yates was born on August 8, 1931 to the late Eugene Sylvester Massey and the late Rettie Catherine (Fleming) Massey. Yates married his bride Tommie Jean Moore on August 5, 1950. Yates retired as a chemist at International Paper Mill, Pine Bluff Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Tommie Jean Massey, their eldest son Michael Dewayne Massey, his brother Chalmus Bernice Massey and his sister Montez Massey Savell.
He is survived by his sons; Thomas Yates Massey (and the late Clara Massey) and Gregory David (Tamara) Massey; daughter Melody Massey (Mark) Hager, grandchildren; Emily Massey (Bayly) Eley, Brandon (Sam) Tolbert, Barclay(Veronica) Hager, Tara Massey (Wade) Rowe, Erica Hager (Mike Johnson), Mark Hager, Joshua (Mary) Hager, Shelby Massey (Duncan Gibbs). great grandchildren; Macy, Dillion, Will, Zac, Payton Kason, Ashlyn and Raelynn. He is survived by a special sister Marth Ann Moore Sharp, Multiple nieces and nephews, and his special niece Gail Massey Cowden.
A Celebration of his Life will be 2:00pm Monday at Wortham Oak Hill Chapel.
