Zella was a wonderful example of the Godly Woman, Wife, and Mother according to Proverbs 31. Bud said “she was the most wonderful wife more than words can describe. The best wife any man could ever hope to have.”
Zella was a gifted seamstress from the time she was a teenager sewing for her family and for different factories until she retired. She made everything from pillowcases to formal gowns, from baby clothes to western shirts, and many quilts.
She was a full-time wife and mother while her children were small. She cooked and baked every day. She got up early before anyone else and cooked breakfast for her husband, Bud, and fixed his lunch before he left for work. Then she would fix breakfast for the children and get them ready for school. She could make a dollar stretch farther than anyone could imagine to make sure her household was secure. She worked tirelessly in the garden canning vegetables, fruit, and berries, everything it would take to get through the winter. She made sure we had something others didn’t have, we had a home, love, and Jesus.
Zella loved her family above all else and her grandchildren were a delight unto her.
Zella was baptized in the Wonderful Name of Jesus Christ along with her husband and children in 1971. She experienced salvation and was added to the church according to Acts 2:38. They started their Christian walk together as a family at the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ in Winona, Missouri.
Zella left a Godly legacy behind for her family and all those who choose to follow it. She is now in the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Zella will be missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
