The St. Louis Cardinals couldn’t close out a three-game sweep of the Oakland A’s thanks to a 6-3 loss at Oakland Coliseum yesterday. The Cardinals led by a run going into the bottom of the fifth before surrendering three runs in the frame. Ivan Herrera drove in two runs during the losing effort. Steven Matz was charged with his first loss after surrendering five runs on seven hits in five innings. The 9-and-10 Cardinals host the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow night.
