The Cardinals missed out on a chance to sweep the Oakland A’s. The Cardinals lost to Oakland 8-0 in the series finale at Busch Stadium yesterday. Taylor Motter and Alec Burleson both had two hits in the losing effort. Matthew Liberatore was charged with his fifth loss after surrendering five earned runs and one unearned run in four-and-a-third innings. The Cardinals remain in last place in the NL Central at 54-and-67. Adam Wainwright starts for the Cardinals against the Mets tonight.
