Willow Springs went toe to toe with the Bears from Ava for the right to call themselves champions in the Mansfield tournament.
It was a rough start for Willow as Ava got up to an 18-6 point lead at the end of the first quarter. It was a rough night from the three-point range for Willow Springs, meanwhile Ava was shooting from all over.
Owen Duddridge was the only player in double figures for Willow Springs with 12 points, while Scotty Osborn chipped in with 8. For Ava, Dalton led all scorers with 17 points and Swafford had 13.
Both teams were undefeated coming into the game, but it would be Ava staying that way after the dust cleared. Willow loses their first game of the year in a championship battle 44-57.
