The Willow Springs Bears welcomed the Hartville Eagles to town. This was a tough matchup as the Eagles are ranked #1 in the state in Class 2. The first few minutes of the game was a back and forth, close battle with Hartville leading 8-7 midway through the quarter. Hartville then went on a 40-9 run that ended during the second quarter. Hartville was very efficient shooting the ball and used fast break points to pull away. The first quarter saw the Eagles lead 24-9, at the end and they led 55-18 by halftime.
Once Hartville built the comfortable gap, it was hard for the Bears to get into a rhythm. Willow Springs did, however; outscore Hartville in the second half 22-19. Hartville led 67-29 after the third quarter and would win the game 74-40.
Willow Springs will be back in action, in one week. The Bears will face another Eagle team, the Liberty Eagles on Friday, January 12th.
