Bears Maul Bluejays In Historic Game

For the first time in 92 years, the Clever Bluejays played their first varsity football game, taking on the Willow Springs Bears.

The Bears came out strong and took control of the game early, scoring almost at will, and lead by a score of 34-0 at the half.  In the second half, many  of the Bears JV team were put into the game, and would keep the Bluejays scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Leading the way for the Bears was Scottie Osborne who had 160 total yards, highlighted by a 50 yard TD run. Garrett Worley, Kyle Wood and Gavin Ferguson would also score touchdowns as the Bears had a tremendous effort from the running game.

By the end of the game, the Bears came away with the convincing 42-0 win over the Clever Bluejays.

With the win, the Bears pick up their first win of the season. Willow Springs will be in action next Friday, at home taking on the Marionville Comets.
