COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri women’s basketball (9-2) got back on track with a win over Alabama A&M (1-7) by a score of 69-55. The Tigers were paced by a 20-point, 20-rebound effort from Aijha Blackwell.
Hayley Frank turned in another solid scoring effort with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting while grabbing six rebounds. Only six Tigers are listed in the scoring column, however each put up at least seven points apiece.
TURNING POINT
The Tigers went on a 9-2 run in the second quarter to take a 13-point lead over the Bulldogs. Alabama A&M fought back in the second half, however, cutting the lead to just seven in the fourth quarter. Mama Dembele hit a three to put Mizzou back up by double digits where the score would remain.
NOTES
Aijha Blackwell put up her first career 20/20 game with exactly 20 points and 20 rebounds. It was her fifth 20-point effort of the year.
Blackwell produced her seventh double-double of the season in her seventh-straight game with double-digit scoring. She has 27 career double-doubles.
Frank tallied 17 points and six rebounds. She has eight double-digit scoring performances on the year.
LaDazhia Williams scored nine points with three rebounds.
The Tigers shot above 50 percent in the game after turning in a season-worst shooting performance at Missouri State.
