The Blues were busy on the first day of NHL free agency. The team gave Robert Thomas an eight-year extension worth 65-million dollars. The contract is the largest in franchise history. Thomas scored 20 goals and tallied 57 assists last season. Defenseman Nick Leddy also signed a four-year extension worth 16-million dollars with the team yesterday. Additionally, St. Louis inked free agent center Noel Acciari and free agent goaltender Thomas Greiss. However, the Blues were unable to bring back franchise cornerstone David Perron, who signed a two-year deal with the Red Wings.
