Thayer Bobcats tried to claw their way to the state championship game in class 3 boy basketball by battling Lutheran North in the semi finals the game went to overtime as Thayer had to fight and claw to get the lead and then see Lutheran North take the lead right back, Bobcats took the lead with a little over a minute left and Lutheran had 1.3 seconds left in regulation hit a quick 3 to tie it up at 55. In overtime Lutheran North got the lead first Bobcats tied it right back up at 57 but Lutheran went right down the floor and hit a shot to make the score 59-57. 1 minute to go in O/T Thayer with the basketball and Easton Pitts hits a THREE to give Bobcats a one point lead Lutheran hits a bucket to regain the lead Bobcats had 5 seconds to try and hit the game winner but could not get the shot to fall your final score 61-60 Lutheran North will play New Madrid County Central in the class 3 championship game Saturday afternoon The Bobcats will play for third place Saturday at 10am vs Lafayette County.
