Cardinal and Royals scores

The Royals salvaged their series against the Guardians with a 4-2 victory in the finale from Cleveland. Maikel Garcia and Salvador Perez led the way at the plate with two RBIs apiece. Cole Ragans got the win after giving up just one run and fanning 10 batters in almost eight innings. Ragans battled through a left hamstring cramp to earn his first win of the season. The Royals are now 8-and-8. They visit the New York Yankees tonight.

The St. Louis Cardinals held the Philadelphia Phillies to three hits during a 7-0 win at Busch Stadium. Matthew Liberatore picked up his first win after striking out seven in six scoreless innings, while Willson Contreras and Jordan Walker both homered in the victory. The Cardinals have won two of three and are in fourth place in the NL Central at 7-and-8. Sonny Gray starts for St. Louis against Houston tonight.
