Cardinals 6, Blue Jays 1

The Cardinals are pulling off a split in their two-game set after topping the Blue Jays 6-1 in Toronto.  Adam Wainwright was credited with the win after holding the Blue Jays to one run over seven innings pitched.  Albert Pujols and Nolan Gorman each hit a home run in the fifth inning for the Cards.  Pujols slugged a three-run shot.  Kevin Gausman suffered the loss after allowing five runs over four and two-thirds innings.  Bo Bichette drove in the lone run for Toronto.

Angels 4, Royals 0

Janson Junk tossed five scoreless frames as the Angels blanked the Royals 4-0 in Kansas City.  Junk got his first MLB win after allowing four hits and striking out eight.  Phil Gosselin and Brandon Marsh each had a pair of hits and drove in a run in the victory.  Los Angeles won the series and improved to 42-and-56.  Brad Keller was charged the loss after giving up three runs in six innings of work.  Ryan O’Hearn had three hits in the losing effort for Kansas City, which fell to 39-and-59.
