CARDINALS AGREE TO TERMS & SIGN 24 PLAYERS

JUPITER, Fla., March 13, 2021 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have agreed to terms and signed one-year contracts for the 2021 season with 24 players.

Agreeing to terms among the team’s 0 to 3 Major League service time players were pitchers Génesis Cabrera, Seth Elledge, Junior Fernandez, Giovanny Gallegos, Ryan Helsley, Dakota Hudson, Johan Oviedo, Daniel Ponce de Leon, Johan Quezada, Angel Rondón, Tyler Webb, Kodi Whitley and Jake Woodford; catchers Ivan Herrera, Andrew Knizner and Ali Sánchez; infielders Tommy Edman, John Nogowski and Edmundo Sosa, and outfielders Dylan Carlson, Austin Dean, Tyler O’Neill, Lane Thomas and Justin Williams.

JUPITER, Fla., March 13, 2021 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced following tonight’s game that they have re-assigned or optioned 12 players to their minor league camp, reducing the number of players in Major League camp to 54.

The team optioned pitchers Junior Fernandez and Johan Quezada and re-assigned pitchers Conner Jones, Griffin Roberts, Austin Warner and Garrett Williams, catchers Pedro Pages and Carlos Soto, infielders Luken Baker and Kramer Robertson and outfielders Lars Nootbaar and Justin Toerner.
