Cardinals and Royals scores

The Kansas City Royals came through in the clutch during a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Twins at Kauffman Stadium. Vinnie Pasquantino drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth with a ground-out to first. John Schreiber picked up the win in relief after Cole Ragans struck out 11 and allowed just one run on four hits in six innings of work. The Royals have won their last three games.

The Cardinals sunk the Pirates 5-3 from Pittsburgh. Victor Scott-the-second and Brendan Donovan drove in runs as part of a three-run third inning. Sonny Gray earned the win after allowing one run over five innings as St. Louis snapped a four-game skid. The Cardinals improved to 5-and-6. They send Erick Fedde to the mound against Pittsburgh this morning.
