Cardinals clinch Central Division

The Cardinals are heading back to the postseason. St. Louis clinched the NL Central crown with a 6-2 win over the Brewers in Milwaukee. Paul Goldschmidt had two hits and two RBI, and Andrew Knizner hit his third home run. Miles Mikolas earned his 12th win after giving up just one run in six innings. The Cardinals improve to 90-and-65 and have made it to the playoffs in each of the last four seasons with their first division title since 2019.

Even if the Cardinals and Brewers tie with the same record, the Cardinals own the tie-breaking by leading the head-to-head matchup 10-8 with one more game to play.
