The Chiefs wrapped up the preseason without a win. Kansas City lost to the Chicago Bears 34-21 in its preseason finale at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Ian Book completed 6-of-9 passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Book connected with Cornell Powell on a seven-yard TD early in the fourth quarter before finding Baylor Cupp for a 10-yard score. Carson Steele had 50 rushing yards and found the end zone on a one-yard rush in the second quarter. The Chiefs finish the preseason at 0-and-3. They will now begin preparing for the regular season opener at home against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5th.

ESPN is reporting that Kansas City has signed Creed Humphrey to a four-year contract worth 72 million dollars. The deal also includes 50 million dollars in guarantees, making Humphrey the highest-paid center in league history. The 25-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. He has started every game over the past three seasons and has been selected to two Pro Bowls. Humphrey was entering the final year of his rookie deal.
