Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he turned down the chance to host “Saturday Night Live” because he has a fear of reading off a teleprompter.
Mahomes does want to host the show one day, but is still “scarred” from a few years ago reading off a teleprompter at the ESPYs. He said he still has some nerves even though “SNL” mainly uses cue cards rather than electronics.

Thirty-five athletes have hosted “SNL” including Peyton Manning, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and more.
