Rashee Rice says he’s ready to move forward. The fourth-year wide receiver spent 30 days in jail for a probation violation while also recovering from offseason knee surgery. Rice says his time in jail gave him a different perspective.
Rice also spent part of his rehab working with Patrick Mahomes. After initially taking things slowly, Rice has been a full go in practice and says he hopes his positivity can shine through.
For Rice, it’s a chance to put a difficult offseason behind him and let his play on the field do the talking.
One of the emerging battles at Chiefs training camp is at right tackle, where Kansas City is looking for a replacement for Jawaan Taylor. Jaylon Moore entered the offseason as the favorite, but undrafted rookie Khalil Benson has emerged as another contender for the job. Moore says regardless of the competition, everyone in the offensive line room is pushing each other to get better every day during camp.
Moore was listed as the top right tackle, with Benson behind him, on the Chiefs’ first unofficial depth chart ahead of Saturday’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams.
