Cook, a 6-foot-5 guard from Baltimore, Md., is one of 20 players on the Hornets camp roster and one of nine rookies.

He earned All-Missouri Valley Conference in both seasons at Missouri State, garnering All-MVC second-team honors in 2020 after averaging a team-best 14.9 points per game with 71 three-pointers in his senior season.

Cook ranked fifth in the MVC in 3-point FG percentage (.423) and 3-pointers per game (2.2) in 2019-20, while finishing sixth in the league in scoring (14.9); ninth in free throw percentage (.816); and 12th in minutes per game (32.1). He finished two-year career at MSU with 904 points to rank 35th in program history in scoring and sixth among two-year players. He also finished 10th on MSU’s career 3-pointers list with 119.

During his junior season with coach Dana Ford’s Bears, Cook was a third-team All-MVC selection and member of the MVC All-Newcomer Team after transferring to Missouri State from Odessa (Texas) College. He averaged 12.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game with 48 three-pointers.

Cook earned MVC Player of the Week honors on Jan. 28, 2019 and was a two-time MVC Newcomer of the Week honoree (Nov. 12, 2018 and Jan. 28, 2019). He also earned all-tournament honors at the NABC Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City in 2018.

The Hornets begin preseason exhibition games with a two-game series against Toronto on Dec. 12 and 14. Coincidentally, the Raptors roster also features fellow Missouri State alum Alize Johnson who joined Toronto late last week after two seasons with the Indiana Pacers.
