Zac Gallen extended his scoreless streak to 28 consecutive innings as the Diamondbacks blanked the Royals 2-0 in Phoenix. Gallen struck out 12 over six-and-a-third scoreless frames as he moved to 4-and-1 with the win. Andrew Chafin closed it out for his fourth save. Evan Longoria and Emmanuel Rivera plated the runs for the Snakes, who took two-of-three in the series. Ryan Yarbrough allowed just one run in four frames but fell to 0-and-3 with the tough-luck loss. KC has dropped 10 of its last 12.
Its the sixth time the Royals have been shutout this season and fourth time by the score 2-0.
