A highlight-reel player with the Missouri men’s basketball program, graduate student DeAndre Gholston has been selected to compete in the 2023 State Farm College Team Skills and 3X3U Championship on Wednesday, March 29.
A new event this year, the State Farm College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships will feature a dynamic roster of graduating college seniors competing in a variety of competitions, including team shootouts, a skills relay and 3×3 basketball.
Gholston appeared in all 35 games for the Tigers this season, finishing third on the team with 10.9 points per game. He is most remembered for his late-game heroics, connecting on buzzer-beater game winners from 35-plus feet against UCF (Dec. 17) and No. 6 Tennessee (Feb. 11) during the campaign.
The graduate guard also finished the season on a strong note, scoring in double figures in each of the year’s final seven games, averaging 14.6 points and shooting 47.7 percent from the field.
The championship is slated for March 29 at 6:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN2 on Sunday, April 2 at 9 p.m. To purchase tickets at the Bayou Music Center, please visit www.houstonhoopshouse.com.
Gholston helped lead Mizzou to a successful season during the 2022-23 campaign. The Tigers finished with 25 victories – their most in 11 seasons – while claiming their first NCAA Tournament victory in 13 years and advancing to the SEC Tournament Semifinals for the first time in school history.
