All-Star Ketel Marte homered for the second straight night as the Diamondbacks beat the Royals 6-2 in Kansas City. Salvador Perez and Bobby Witt Jr. each had an RBI in the setback. Starting pitcher Alec Marsh was charged with the loss and dropped to 7-and-7 on the season after he had six strikeouts and let up five runs through five frames. The Royals dropped to 56-and-46. They will host the D-Backs again tonight. Right-hander Michael Wacha will start opposite Arizona righty Ryne Nelson.
The Royals had their four-game win streak snapped.
